Handcrafted end-grain cutting board made by Alex DiIonno of Roots Furniture Studio in Green Township, NJ! The board is made from locally sourced Black Walnut. The board measures 18” long x 13.5” wide x 1” thick. Rubber feet are included. The board has been sealed with Odie’s Oil, a natural, food-safe finish. The top surface has been sanded to a buttery smooth finish for easy wiping and cleaning. This board is truly built to last a lifetime. End-grain cutting boards are uniquely resilient to daily use, due to the orientation of the grain. With edge-grain cuttings boards, the knife tends to sever the wood fibers. This is what sets end-grain cutting boards apart; the knife edge cannot sever the fibers since they are oriented vertically, which allows the board to last many more years, while maintaining a nearly flawless appearance, even with frequent use.
